May 26 2011 The Ruidoso Osos defeated the Alpine Cowboys 14-12 in a 10-inning game. Ruidoso collected 18 hits and played errorless baseball while Alpine finished with eight hits and one error.
Ruidoso built an early lead with four runs in each of the first two innings, then added three in the sixth and three in the 10th. Alpine answered with a nine-run sixth inning and added one run in the first fourth and 10th innings, but could not complete the comeback.
Case Rigby went 3-for-5 with two doubles and three RBI for the Osos, while
Jerome Dunning drove in five runs and hit a home run.
Sean Proni and
Kip Masuda each recorded three hits, and
Chris Juarez added two hits and an RBI. For Alpine,
Kyle Wells went 2-for-5 with two RBI, and
Eric Garcia contributed a pinch-hit single and three RBI.
Anderson Gardner hit a home run for the Cowboys.
Edgar Correa earned the win after allowing one run on one hit with two strikeouts in one inning.
Andrew Miller worked 2.1 scoreless innings, and
Erick Campos struck out eight while allowing two runs in five innings. Alpine's
Doug McIntyre pitched three scoreless innings, while
Reed Alfieri took the loss after allowing three runs in one inning.
