June 20 2015 The Roswell Invaders defeated the Las Cruces Vaqueros 13-3 behind a 21-hit attack. Roswell scored twice in the second inning, added three runs in the fourth, two in the sixth, two in the seventh and four in the eighth. Las Cruces scored once in the second, sixth and seventh innings and finished with eight hits.
J. Miller went 3-for-6 with a home run and two RBI for Roswell.
Michael Morris,
Carlos Valdez and
Michael Granda each collected three hits, while
Richard Colla went 4-for-5 with two RBI. Aaron Carmen added three hits, three runs and two RBI, and
Brett Balkan drove in three runs. Roswell also received two RBI apiece from Miller and Colla.
Alex Pagano earned the victory after allowing eight hits and three runs in 6.2 innings. Two of the runs were earned, and he struck out nine while walking two.
Shane Simpkins followed with 1.1 scoreless innings and two strikeouts, while
Alex Fernandez completed the game with a scoreless ninth.
Johnny Martinez took the loss for Las Cruces after surrendering five runs on 10 hits in four innings.
Chad Flick allowed four runs in three innings, and
Zach Tingen gave up four runs on five hits in one inning. J. Hotta and
Alex Diaz each drove in a run for the Vaqueros.
