DUBLIN, California — May 23, 2026 — The Dublin Leprechauns held off the Bakersfield Train Robbers 5-4 in a tight game at 4605 Lockhart St. in Dublin.
Dublin took the first lead in the third inning when Dylan Leek scored on a wild pitch. Bakersfield answered in the fourth as Dylan Heil launched a three-run home run to left field, scoring Joe Riddle and Cade Fujii to put the Train Robbers ahead 3-1.
The Leprechauns responded immediately in the bottom of the fourth. Sam Ott delivered the biggest swing of the night with a three-run triple to left field, bringing home Tim Wagner, Dylan Leek, and Joseph Nunn Jr. to give Dublin a 4-3 lead.
Bakersfield tied the game in the fifth when Cade Fujii doubled to left field to score Joe Starick. Dublin answered again in the bottom half, as Carson Richter singled to center field to drive in DJ Aceron for the eventual winning run.
Ott led Dublin with two hits and three RBIs, while Juan Gonzalez also collected two hits. For Bakersfield, Fujii went 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI, while Heil drove in three runs with his home run.
Dublin’s pitching staff held Bakersfield scoreless over the final four innings. David Howard worked two scoreless innings, and Santiago Gomez closed the game with two scoreless innings. Levi Tucker struck out eight for Bakersfield over six innings.
Dublin finished with five runs on seven hits and two errors. Bakersfield scored four runs on nine hits and committed one error.
