July 31 2025 The Pecos Bills defeated the Alpine Cowboys 16-12 in a high-scoring game at Kokernot Field. Pecos collected 18 hits and scored in four innings, while Alpine finished with 14 hits and three errors.
Pecos took control with seven runs in the first inning and added four more in the third to build an 11-2 lead. The Bills scored twice in the seventh and three times in the ninth, holding off Alpine despite the Cowboys scoring three runs in the fifth, three in the seventh and four in the ninth.
Wyatt Morgan led the Bills with four hits, four runs and five RBI, including two home runs.
Peter Jelenic went 4-for-6 with three runs, four RBI and a home run, while
Jacob Adams added three hits, two runs and two RBI. Pecos hit four home runs overall, with
Kolton Kendrick also contributing a double and an RBI.
Ryan Risch earned the win after allowing five runs on six hits in four innings with two walks and two strikeouts.
Hunter Belton followed with two scoreless innings and two strikeouts.
Jacob Bradley took the loss for Alpine after allowing seven runs and six hits without recording an out.
Matteo Avallone drove in three runs for the Cowboys, while
James Prockish and
John Tuttle each added two RBI; Tuttle also hit a home run.
