Alpine Cowboys Edge Pecos Bills in 11-Inning Thriller

July 27 2025 The Alpine Cowboys outlasted the Pecos Bills 9-8 in 11 innings at Cyclone Ballpark. Alpine and Pecos each collected 12 hits, but the Cowboys scored three times in the top of the 11th before the Bills answered with two runs in the bottom half. Pecos opened the scoring with a run in the third inning, but Alpine moved ahead with one run in the fifth and two in the sixth. The Bills responded with a four-run seventh to take a 6-3 lead before Alpine scored three in the eighth to even the game. Both teams then scored in the 11th, with Alpine’s three-run rally proving decisive. Trevor Tripoli led Alpine with two hits and two RBI, while Humberto Vela added two hits and three RBI. Aaron Izquierdo had three hits, and Carson Kirby and Marco Martinez each scored twice. Vela also started on the mound and worked 6 1/3 innings, allowing seven hits and four earned runs while striking out four. Wyatt Morgan paced the Pecos offense with four hits and two runs, while Nick Capozzi had two hits and two runs with one RBI. Jacob Adams drove in three runs, and Kolton Kendrick added two RBI. Jesse Garcia earned the win for Alpine after striking out nine and allowing one hit in three scoreless innings.
