June 21 2025 The Alpine Cowboys defeated the Santa Fe Fuego 25-14 in a high-scoring game at Fort Marcy Park. Alpine collected 29 hits and scored in six innings, including five runs in the third, six in the fourth, and seven in the ninth. Santa Fe finished with 14 hits and committed three errors, while the Cowboys made one error.
Josh Rego led Alpine with four hits, four runs, six RBI and two home runs.
James Prockish added three hits, three runs, seven RBI and two homers, while
Brandon Andrews hit two home runs and drove in two runs.
Trevor Tripoli went 5-for-7 with two doubles and three runs, and
Aaron Izquierdo collected six hits. Alpine hit nine home runs overall, also receiving homers from
Kyle Rodriguez and
Sean Becker.
Santa Fe was paced by
Jesus Chavez, who hit two home runs and drove in five runs.
Joey Grabanski added four hits and four RBI, including a home run, while
Raul Guillermo had three hits and scored twice. The Fuego scored three runs in the second, but Alpine answered with five in the third and six in the fourth to take control.
Armando Ceballo was credited with the win for Alpine after allowing four hits and eight runs in 4.1 innings while striking out six and walking five.
Marco Martinez added two-thirds of a scoreless inning.
Tyler Campbell took the loss for Santa Fe, allowing 18 hits and 15 runs, 13 earned, in six innings with six strikeouts and three walks.
