Tucson Saguaros Roll Past Santa Fe Fuego 18-7

May 28 2025 The Tucson Saguaros defeated the Santa Fe Fuego 18-7 behind a 17-hit attack and four home runs. Tucson scored in every inning except the eighth, including four runs in the second and five in the fifth, to build a 13-2 advantage. Santa Fe totaled 16 hits and scored twice in the first, sixth, eighth and ninth innings. Anthony Manisero led Tucson by going 4-for-4 with a home run, a double, three runs and six RBIs. Gavy Perez-Torres went 2-for-4 with four runs and two RBIs, while Dahiandy Johnson added three hits, a home run, one run and two RBIs. Mike Whalen and Cedric Reynaud also homered for the Saguaros, with Reynaud going 3-for-4 with two runs and two RBIs. Santa Fe’s Jesus Chavez went 3-for-4 with two home runs, three runs and four RBIs. Quinton Copeland, Rupert Watson and Joey Grabanski each had three hits for the Fuego, with Grabanski also driving in a run. Derek Cabrera earned the win after allowing three runs, two earned, on nine hits over six innings. He struck out five and walked none. Kevin Worek followed with a scoreless inning, and Tucson held Santa Fe to two runs over the final three innings. William Suarez took the loss for Santa Fe after surrendering 10 earned runs on seven hits and six walks in four innings.
