Three Game Series begins August 5, 2024 at Kokernot Field in Alpine, Texas

The Two best teams in the Pecos League will square off in West Texas beginning Monday Night.

They met in a three game series in Alpine in which Alpine won two of three games.

The Pecos League MVP and Hitter of the year play for the Alpine Cowboys, while the Pitcher of the Year plays for Garden City.

The Cowboys are lead offensively by outfielders Drake Angeron and AJ Folds. Angeron stolen 53 bases and batted .405. Folds hit .448 and had 37 rbis. The teams most valuable player might be shortstop Taylor Darden. Darden hit 6 home runs and hit .422 Josh Rego and James Prockish provide veteran leadership on the corners. Matteo Avallone had the biggest hit of the season for the Cowboys. His walk off win against the Saguaros lead the Cowboys to advance.

On the mound for the Cowboys it will likely be Humberto Vela for Game 1. After that it will be all arms on deck. Kacey Cheek was the best pitcher for the Cowboys in the Tucson Series.

The Garden City Wind dominated the North Division and swept Trinidad in the 2nd round. Former Roswell Invader Rob Morosetti lead the Wind in hitting with 10 HRs and a .343 average, he settled in as every day first baseman. Adam Purdy, Jordan Williams and Jacob Talamante patrol he outfield for the Wind. Purdy was a waiver wire pickup from Trinidad has been amazing for the Wind with .358 average Dominic Enbody has lead the team behind the plate Aric Vasquez, Zach Elias and Colton Adams have rounded out the infield.

Brendan Beard is penciled in as the number one starter as he went 8-1 with a 2.68 ERA and is a finalist for pitcher of the year. Jake Norris is not far behind him as he went 7-0 with a 3.12 ERA. Drew Henderson went 7-2 with 10 starts. Will Hahnfeld started 8 games going 6-0. Adam Wibert and Nico O'Donnell collected all of the saves on the season of the bullpen.
