July 31 2024 The Bakersfield Train Robbers defeated the Vallejo Seaweed 9-3, using a fast start and a 13-hit attack to secure the series 2-1. Bakersfield scored twice in the first inning, once in the second and twice in the third to take a 5-1 lead. Vallejo answered with two runs in the fourth, but the Train Robbers added a run in the sixth and three more in the seventh to pull away.
Noah McCreary led Bakersfield at the plate, going 3-for-3 with a home run, three runs scored and an RBI.
Isaiah Mirabal added two hits and two runs, while
Sebastian Trinidad and
Josh Burns each recorded two hits. Bakersfield finished with 13 hits and seven RBIs, including a solo home run from McCreary.
Ethan Rivera earned the win after allowing six hits and three runs, two earned, in seven innings. He walked four and struck out six.
Daxton Tinker completed the game with two scoreless innings, allowing one hit and striking out three.
Vallejo collected seven hits, with
Mickey Nunes and
Carlos Drain each recording two.
Ike Brown drove in a run, and
Michael Pavlechak also had an RBI.
David Gustafson took the loss after giving up five runs, four earned, on five hits in four innings, with three walks and three strikeouts.
