July 25 2024 The Alpine Cowboys defeated the Pecos Bills 7-4 at Kokernot Field. Alpine finished with seven hits and three errors, while Pecos collected eight hits without an error.
Alpine took control with three runs in the fourth inning, added one in the fifth, two in the sixth and one in the eighth.
Taylor Darden went 1-for-3 with three runs scored, two RBIs, a home run and two walks.
James Prockish had two hits and an RBI, while Juan Medina added two hits, an RBI and a double. Pecos scored twice in the first, once in the second and once in the fifth. S. Polanco went 2-for-3 with two RBIs, and J. Rodriguez hit a home run and drove in a run.
Jacob Bradley pitched five innings for Alpine, allowing six hits and four earned runs with one walk and one strikeout.
Tyler Reistetter earned the win after two scoreless innings with two strikeouts, and
Alec Cruz recorded the save with a scoreless ninth. Pecos starter
Roberto Jimenez allowed four earned runs and walked seven in 4 1/3 innings, while
Eli Caughorn took the loss.
