July 20 2024 The Bakersfield Train Robbers defeated the Marysville Drakes 11-3 at Bryant Field, using a four-run eighth inning to pull away. Bakersfield scored twice in the first inning, added three runs in the fourth and two in the seventh before putting the game out of reach in the eighth. Marysville scored twice in the sixth and once in the eighth.
Joe Riddle led the Train Robbers with two hits and four RBI, while
Isaiah Mirabal went 3-for-5 with two RBI.
Sebastian Trinidad added two RBI, and
Noah McCreary and
Alex Miller each drove in a run. Bakersfield finished with 10 hits and took advantage of four Marysville errors. The Drakes also collected 10 hits, with
Drake Ayala and
Caleb Harmond recording three hits apiece; Harmond had one RBI.
Ethan Rivera earned the win for Bakersfield after allowing two runs on seven hits over 5.1 innings. He walked one and struck out six.
Josiah Bowles followed with 2.2 innings, allowing one run on two hits while striking out three, and
Daxton Tinker finished with a scoreless ninth.
Mike Vochelli took the loss for Marysville, surrendering five runs on five hits in three innings.
Kohl Petersen allowed four runs, three earned, over two innings, while Bakersfields pitching staff held the Drakes to one run over the final three innings.
