The Douglas Diablos (27-33) refused to relinquish the lead after grabbing it early against the Taos Blizzard (19-38), recording a 13-3 victory on Tuesday at Taos Tundra.
The game was decided quickly as the Douglas Diablos exerted their will early with seven runs in the first three innings. A two-run single by Tim OCallaghan, a groundout by Ryan Dimascio, an RBI single by Matt Altman, an RBI double by John Gianis, and an RBI single by Jake Hovis in the first inning and a sacrifice fly by OCallaghan during the second inning supplied the early offense for the Douglas Diablos.
Malquiel Brito had three extra-base hits for the Douglas Diablos. He singled in the first inning, tripled in the second inning, homered in the fourth inning, and doubled in the seventh inning.
Max Garza paced the Taos Blizzard at the plate. Garza went 2-4, drove in one and scored one run. He singled in the fourth inning and homered in the sixth inning.
OCallaghan got the win, running his season record to 1-2. He allowed one run over five innings. He struck out one, walked one and surrendered six hits.
Richie Anderson couldnt get it done on the bump for the Taos Blizzard, taking a loss. He allowed seven runs in 1 2/3 innings, walked none and struck out none.
