July 29 2023 The Bakersfield Train Robbers defeated the Vallejo Seaweed 20-4 at Sam Lynn Ballpark, using 18 hits and a three-inning offensive surge to take the four-inning game. Bakersfield scored nine runs in the first inning, added four in the second and seven in the third before Vallejo scored three times in the fourth. Vallejo scored once in the first and finished with six hits and two errors, while Bakersfield committed one error.
Joe Riddle went 3-for-4 with four RBI and two runs for Bakersfield.
Paul Von Zboray added three hits, including two doubles, with three RBI and one run, while
Tom Buckman had three hits, a double, a triple, three runs and one RBI.
Rick Phillips hit a two-run home run and scored twice, and
Austin Toerner also homered while contributing two hits, three runs and four RBI.
Max Tracey scored four runs and reached base four times with two hits and two walks.
