July 3 2023 The Lancaster Sound Breakers defeated the Vallejo Seaweed 11-10 in a back-and-forth game. Lancaster collected 10 hits and overcame a six-run performance by Vallejo in the fourth and fifth innings, while Vallejo finished with six hits and no errors.
Vallejo opened with two runs in the first inning, but Lancaster answered with five in the second to take a 5-2 lead. The teams traded two-run innings in the third and fourth before Vallejo scored four in the fifth to move ahead 10-8. Lancaster scored once in the fifth to pull within one, tied the game with a run in the sixth and took the lead with the only run of the eighth inning.
Andrew Castano led Lancaster with two hits and four RBI, including a home run.
Evan Antonellis added two hits, three RBI and a home run, while
Kyle Jenkins went 3-for-4 with two walks, two runs and two stolen bases.
Jacob Jablonski contributed a double and two RBI, and
Nate Duarte had a triple and an RBI.
Manuel Ochoa earned the win for Lancaster after allowing two hits and four runs three earned in 5.2 innings. He walked four and struck out 10.
Alexander Owens took the loss for Vallejo after giving up two runs on two hits in three innings, with two walks and two strikeouts.
