May 28 2023 The Vallejo Seaweed scored in three of the first five innings and defeated the Marysville Drakes 11-6. Vallejo finished with 11 hits and three errors while Marysville collected six hits and committed four errors.
Vallejo scored four runs in the first inning, added three in the third and four more in the fifth to build an 11-1 lead. Marysville answered with five runs in the ninth inning, but the late rally was not enough to overcome the deficit.
Caleb Natov led the Seaweed offense by going 4-for-5 with two runs and three RBI.
Kyrin Coleman added a double, a run and two RBI, while
Phil Rowland went 1-for-4 with a home run and two RBI.
Mickey Nunes also drove in a run, and Vallejo hit two home runs in the game, one each by Natov and Rowland.
Rowland earned the win after allowing one run on three hits in five innings while striking out six.
Chris Hess followed with three scoreless innings and one hit allowed.
Garret Mos took the loss for Marysville, giving up seven runs, six earned, on seven hits in four innings while walking six and striking out three.
