May 27 2023 The Dublin Leprechauns defeated the Monterey Amberjacks 6-2, overcoming an early deficit with four runs in the third inning. Dublin collected eight hits and played errorless defense, while Monterey finished with one hit and no errors.
Monterey scored once in the first inning and added another run in the fourth, but Dublin answered with two runs in the opening inning and broke the game open in the third.
Kyle Montebon led Dublin with two hits and one RBI.
Tomas Moreno went 1-for-2 with a walk and one RBI, while
Isaiah Lewis and J. Gali also recorded hits and RBIs.
Meltavis Robertson earned the win for Dublin after allowing one hit and two earned runs in five innings. He walked three and struck out none, throwing 80 pitches with 46 strikes.
Brenden Flaherty took the loss for Monterey after surrendering six earned runs on eight hits in three innings, with five walks and one strikeout.
Garrett Payton relieved Flaherty and held Dublin scoreless over 1 1/3 innings, allowing no hits and issuing one walk. Dublin’s six-run performance included two doubles, one by Lewis and one by Robertson, while Monterey’s lone hit was recorded by
Dominic Scotti.
