July 30 2021 The Cleburne Railroaders defeated the Houston Apollos 16-3 after pounding out 16 hits. Cleburne broke a scoreless tie with two runs in the third inning and erupted for 10 runs in the fourth to take control. The Railroaders added a run in the fifth and three in the eighth before Houston scored twice in the eighth and once in the ninth.
R Hernandez led Cleburne with three hits, four RBI and two runs, including a home run and two doubles. Z Nehrir went 3-for-6 with four runs and two RBI, while A Lago collected four hits, scored twice and drove in a run. C Pogue drew four walks and added a hit with two RBI. Cleburne also received two RBI each from C Simpson and T Ryan.
Jheyson Manzueta earned the win by holding Houston scoreless on four hits over seven innings. He walked one and struck out six. Cleburnes bullpen allowed three runs over the final two innings, with D Williams charged with two runs without recording an out before A Fairchild and E De La Cruz completed the game.
Houston finished with five hits, led by
Jordan Pontious with two hits, a double and an RBI.
Brian Smith took the loss after allowing five runs on three hits and six walks in three innings.
Derrick Sylve surrendered seven runs on six hits in one inning as the Apollos fell 16-3.
