June 22 2021 The Tucson Saguaros defeated the Roswell Invaders 13-7 after building an early lead and pulling away with a three-run seventh inning. Tucson finished with 12 hits and scored twice in the first inning before adding four runs in the second. Roswell answered with one run in the first and one in the third but trailed 6-2 after two innings and 8-4 through five.
Leo Gallegos led Tucson with two hits, a home run and six RBI.
Kokko Figueiredo went 3-for-4 with four runs and an RBI, while
Gabe Wurtz added two hits, three runs, two RBI and a home run.
Nick Hamilton also homered and drove in two runs.
David Walker contributed four RBI, and
Rod Dobbs added two RBI.
Roswell received three RBI from
Lance Myers, who had one hit, and two hits apiece from
Robert Morosetti Hunter Hill and
Jerrod Johnmeyer.
Austin Thurman tripled and drove in a run, while
Hunter Hill scored twice and added an RBI.
Augie Martinez earned the win for Tucson, allowing six hits and four runs, two earned, in 5.2 innings while striking out 11 and walking four.
Jordan Yu followed with 1.1 scoreless innings, and
Jesse Palafox and
Ian Schweppe completed the game. Roswell starter
Austin Stephens took the loss after surrendering eight runs, six earned, on eight hits in five innings.
