Trinidad Triggers Support Mount Carmel Fundraiser
On November 9, 2013 the Triggers were in attendance and supporting a fundraiser for Mt Carmel Medical Center in Trinidad. Among the Triggers personnel attending were Director of Baseball Operations & Field Manager JD Droddy, Director of Business Operations Kim Schultz, Statistician Robert Schultz, and Host Family Coordinator Emily Olguin. The Triggers, in conjunction with Mr. & Mrs. Lonnie Shelton, donated a "Triggers Package" that was auctioned off for $700, all of which went to Mt. Carmel. Included in the package were an autographed bat and ball, a Triggers hat, the opportunity to be a "Trigger for a Day," and a ride in Babe Ruth's 1948 Lincoln. The latter prize was contributed by Mr. and Mrs. Shelton.
After a spirited bidding competition, Mike Cimino of Colorado Springs placed the high bid on the package. The event was sponsored by Mt. Carmel. Mike's father, Jay Cimino, is Chairman of the Mt Carmel Board of Directors. The Cimino family owns the Phil Long automobile dealerships, which is the Triggers' biggest sponsor. The auctioneer for the event was Lisa Camarillo, General Manager of Phil Long Toyota in Trinidad. The Triggers offices during the season are located in Phil Long Toyota's dealership.
“We are happy to have the opportunity to support Mt. Carmel,“ Droddy said. “The Triggers want to thank the wonderful fans of Trinidad, Mr. & Mrs. Shelton, all of our great sponsors, and especially the Cimino family, Lisa Camarillo, and all the people associated with the Phil Long dealerships for their unwavering support of the Triggers. We look forward to being a part of the Trinidad community for many years to come.”
