4/29/2013-There are three expansion teams this year. Raton is getting the least amount of hype and exposure. This is partly because of the proximity to Trinidad and the fans of Raton are very familiar with the Pecos League having attended games in Trinidad last year.

Ray is currently looking to bolster his team with a simple philosphy. "I am looking for the best pitching I can find, and the best hitting I can find, obviously I would like to find some left handers and the best available players who are ready to compete. I don't like sports that have a clock, I am from Indianapolis but I don't like basketball. We play until the end and we are going to surprise alot of people. Everyone is talking about the TV show in Trinidad and everyone is picking us last. I understand that but this isn't Carlsbad and our players are making the same amount of payroll as all of the other teams. We have the best field in the Northern Divison and we will build a great group of fans. I will win games in this league and those who take us lightly will suffer." Every spot is open we are an expansion team, there are no returners. We are building the best team we can build and I will win games."

"Ray Hancock is a true Pirate. People don't realize how competitive he is and how excited he is for the season to start." says Las Vegas Manager Casey Dill Dill managed will Hancock in the Pecos Spring League. "There are 1000's of players trying to get into the league so no one knows who be on the final roster."

The Osos begin Spring Training on Sunday in Raton. They host Trinidad on May 15th for the season opener. Team information can be viewed at the team's website http://raton.pecosleague.com
