5/10/2011-Ruidoso Osos 18 Roswell Invaders 13-The first ever game in the Pecos League was played in Ruidoso New Mexico on 5/10/2011. The Ruidoso Osos outslugged and outlasted the Roswell Invaders 18-13 in front of many new and curious baseball fans. Not only was the game played at 7000 feet elevation the infield was as hard as cement and there was a head wind blowing out to centerfield at around 15 mph. This was the ultimate hitters game Jerome Dunning lead the way for the Osos going 4-5. Drew Peterson had three hits. Leo Madrid threw 3 innings only allowing 1 run picking up the win for the Osos. The Invaders worn Lime Green Pants and Navy Jerseys for the inaugural game. The Osos worn brown jerseys and creme pants on their side. The winds were extreme and caused the two teams to combine for 32 runs. The Pecos League truly lived up to its name of high power offenses are fueled by high altitudes and smaller ballparks. The winds were considered extreme by many in Ruidoso. Box Score
