2/8/2013- The Trinidad Triggers, Trinidad High School and Trinidad State Junior College met with Mayor Bernadette Baca Gonzalez. JD Droddy, Andrew Dunn and Kim Schultz attended for the Triggers. The Triggers will move their entire Spring Training and first two regular season games to Raton. The Triggers renewed their lease for two more years.

The City of Trinidad will lose signifcant amount of hotel rooms to Raton, but could easily gain them back if Trinidad State Junior College hosts these regional tournaments. This is the first step that the Trinidad Triggers show they are committed to work with TSJC and Trinidad High School.

Trinidad State Junior College could host the Region 9 Tournament (May 3-11, 2013) Hosted by Regular Season Champion of Region 9. If TSJC were to win this tournament they would host the WESTERN DISTRICT CHAMPIONSHIP (May 16-18, 2013) which is Hosted by Region 9 Champion. This rotates every three years between Region 1, Region 9 and Region 18. For more information about NCJAA Regionals Visit this link

The Triggers also extended their lease for 2013 with option for 2014. In 2014 this issue will be addressed again. In future there could be a field turf infield installed.

Pecos League Commissioner Andrew Dunn "I would like to again thank the City of Raton who welcomed us with open arms. I would also like to thank Baca Gonzalez for bringing everyone together and keeping the Triggers in Trinidad. Trinidad State Junior College's staff was very easy to work with and their concerns and valid. There is one field in Trinidad and alot of people playing there. The Triggers will support Trinidad State Junior College and Trinidad High School and hope both schools go deep in Colorado State Playoffs and NJCAA Regionals. We will play exactly the same number of home games."
