11/15/2012-The Ruidoso Osos were more than just another team in the 2011 season. They were a tradition. The Osos were a last minute replacement team for the failed Clovis Pioneers. The team was put together at the last minute, they had the worst ballpark in the history of the Peco League. They had the fewest transactions in the league. Kevin Griffin did a great job keeping them together. But this didn't matter as the team with three managers made the playoffs swept White Sands and come within several outs of beating Roswell for the league title.

By the end of the season the Osos had a great following. This tradition will be carried North to Raton. Where the Raton Osos will don the same colors and logo as the Ruidoso Osos.

Many Osos fans have mixed emotions, one hand they know they will never been able to host a team again in Ruidoso, on the other they are happy that there will be an Osos team going forward.

The Osos live on in the Pecos League.
