5/31/2012-The Santa Fe Fuego broke their prolonged losing streak by taking the first game of a four game series from the Las Cruces Vaqueros 12-5 on Thursday Night.
Bruce Amende came into the night as their best starter. He gave up 11 runs in four innings. The Vaqueros were on the road and playing in a ballpark their is twice as high in elevation as Apodoca Park with smaller fences. Tonight there was no huge Vaquero rally of 20 runs and it will be a test for the Vaqueros team on this grueling road stretch in June.
The Fuego got another quality start from Trent Evins. This game the Fuego's bullpen actually held their opponent down. Kieren Bradford went 3-3 with a homer to lead the Fuego Bats. Newly acquired Paris Austin and Alex Fernandez saw action for the Fuego. The two teams meet tommorow night at 6:00 at Fort Marcy Park
