The Tucson Saguaros offense too much for the White Sands Pupfish in 18-5 rout

The Tucson Saguaros (24-6) took down the White Sands Pupfish (11-19) 18-5 on Wednesday at Griggs Park after slamming the White Sands Pupfish with 11 runs in the second inning.

The Tucson Saguaros scored in the second on a two-run error, an error, a two-run single by Michael Rampone, a two-run home run by Adam Urbania, an RBI single by Jesse Baker, an RBI double by Tanner Giesel, an error, and a sacrifice fly by Burnell Dailey.

Ryan Retz had a hot bat for the Tucson Saguaros. Retz went 4-6 and scored three runs. He doubled in the fifth inning and singled in the second, eighth, and ninth innings.

Tyler Herr brought the heat against the White Sands Pupfish during his outing. The White Sands Pupfish managed just one hit off of Herr, who allowed no earned runs, walked three and struck out seven during his three innings of work.

Vladimer Gomez got on base three times in the game for the White Sands Pupfish. He scored one run and had two RBIs. He doubled in the sixth inning.

Cameron Cox improved to 4-2 on the year by picking up the win for the Tucson Saguaros. He allowed four runs over six innings. He struck out four, walked four and surrendered five hits.

Cameron Powers (0-4) took the loss for the White Sands Pupfish. He allowed 12 runs in four innings, walked none and struck out two.

The Tucson Saguaros hammered the White Sands Pupfish pitching as seven hitters had a field day, combining for 17 hits, 11 RBIs and 14 runs scored.
