Great game from the Santa Fe Fuegos Numata not enough in 26-15 loss to the Trinidad Triggers

The Santa Fe Fuego (33-20) failed to take advantage of Chevas Numatas effort at the plate on Monday, losing 26-15 to the Trinidad Triggers (43-18) at Fort Marcy Park.

Numata blasted two home runs for the Santa Fe Fuego. Numata went 2-3 in the game with three RBIs and four runs scored. Numata homered in the first and second innings.

Caleb Bryson hit two home runs for the Trinidad Triggers. Bryson went 2-6 in the game with four RBIs and two runs scored. Bryson homered in the first and seventh innings.

Each team blasted the others pitching, and there were 41 total runs and 46 hits during the game. Relief pitchers got their fill of innings during the game, with the opposing managers using 12 pitchers in total.

The Trinidad Triggers stamped out any hope for the Santa Fe Fuego with eight runs in the second. The Trinidad Triggers scored in the second on a solo home run by Shane Casey, an RBI single by Shea Bell, a three-run home run by Brian Rich, a solo home run by Edmund Cheatham, and a two-run home run by Trevor Sealey.

Christian Schneider got his sixth win for the Trinidad Triggers despite allowing 13 runs over 3 1/3 innings. He struck out one, walked two and surrendered 12 hits.

Kahana Neal (2-1) was the games losing pitcher. He allowed 10 runs in 1 2/3 innings, walked none and struck out none.

The Trinidad Triggers pounded the Santa Fe Fuego pitching, as eight hitters combined for 25 hits, 24 RBIs and 22 runs scored.
