A walk-off single from Louie Saenz brought home the winning run for the Santa Fe Fuego (25-17) in a 15-14 victory over the Garden City Wind (12-36) at Fort Marcy Park on Saturday.
Saenz got on base four times in the game for the Santa Fe Fuego. He singled in the fourth, fifth, and ninth innings.
Chevas Numata rocked the Garden City Wind with two home runs. Numata went 2-5 in the game with four RBIs and two runs scored. Numata homered in the fifth and seventh innings.
Both squads had things going at the plate, tallying 29 runs and 35 hits, including zero extra base hits. There were 10 pitchers used in the game as the two managers searched for any way to finish it off.
Tyler Herr recorded his third win of the year for the Santa Fe Fuego. Herr struck out none, walked none and gave up one hit.
Brandon Hudson couldnt get it done on the rubber for the Garden City Wind, taking a loss. He lasted just 1 1/3 innings, walked one, struck out two, and allowed two runs.
