The game was originally slated to be played in Roswell but there is alot of uncertainty with the Invaders in the offseason. The Invaders are not for sure if they will be playing in Joe Bauman Field or NMMI. Roswell does not know their hotel situation July 8th as the UFO Festival is in town. Also it is extremely difficult for Major League Baseball Scouts to get to Roswell. In 2011 Adam Osteen was signed off the field at the All Star Game by the Arizona Diamondbacks. "We have been contacted by five Major League Team's scouting departments, the Yankees, Angels, Diamondbacks, Rays and Rangers. All have expressed interest in attending the game if the game is within a realistic distance to a major airport.
"This is the best place for the game period. The fans and community really enjoy the game and situation. We would love to host the game but we realize the travel distances for these teams." says Trinidad Coach Justin Lowery
