Williams single propels the Trinidad Triggers past the Santa Fe Fuego 9-5

The Trinidad Triggers (27-13) built an early lead against the Santa Fe Fuego (22-13), scoring six runs in the first inning, en route to a 9-5 win on Thursday at Central Park.

The Trinidad Triggers scored in the first on an RBI single by Eric Williams, an RBI single by Caleb Bryson, a two-run double by Emmanuel Paulino, an RBI single by Brian Rich, and an RBI single by Rich.

Shane Casey led the Trinidad Triggers offensive threat, as he got on base three times in the game. He scored two runs and had one RBI. He singled in the first innings and homered in the fifth inning.

Matt Petrone racked up two RBIs on two hits for the Santa Fe Fuego. He singled in the first inning and homered in the sixth inning.

Patrick Jernigan improved to 3-0 on the year by picking up the win for the Trinidad Triggers. He allowed four runs over seven innings. Jernigan struck out two, walked none and gave up six hits.

Cody Spriggins (5-2) took the loss for the Santa Fe Fuego. He allowed six runs in zero innings, walked two and struck out none.
