Numata leads the Santa Fe Fuego to 17-10 win over the Trinidad Triggers

Friday was a great day for Chevas Numata, as he clubbed two home runs to carry the Santa Fe Fuego (42-20) to a 17-10 victory over the Trinidad Triggers (32-24) at Central Park.

Each team blasted the others pitching, and there were 27 total runs and 34 hits during the game. Both bullpens were busy with eight pitchers used in the game as the skippers of both squads tried to finish it off.

The Santa Fe Fuego left no doubt in the outcome with seven runs in the seventh. The Santa Fe Fuego scored in the seventh on a two-run double by Brice Cutspec, a wild pitch, a two-run single by Preston Zachrich, and a two-run double by Omar Artsen.

Alex Teal brought the heat against the Trinidad Triggers during his outing. The Trinidad Triggers managed just two hits off of Teal, who allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out three during his 3 1/3 innings of work.

Alex Bos (3-5) was the games losing pitcher. He allowed seven runs in four innings, walked none and struck out four.

Numata, Craig Massey, Cutspec and Artsen helped lead the Santa Fe Fuego. They combined for 13 hits and 12 RBIs.
