The Trinidad Triggers best the Taos Blizzard in shootout 14-11

The bats were busy at Taos Tundra on Monday, and when the dust cleared the Trinidad Triggers (9-8) had a 14-11 win over the Taos Blizzard (4-13) in 10 innings.

The teams totaled 31 hits in the game.

The Trinidad Triggers were led by a flawless day at the dish by Johnny Bladel, who went 4-4 against the Taos Blizzards pitching. He singled in the first, third, and sixth innings and homered in the seventh inning.

Daniel Sharp pitched lights out for the Trinidad Triggers. The Taos Blizzard managed just one hit off of Sharp, who allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out five during his 2 1/3 innings of work.

Zach Leitten recorded his third win of the year for the Trinidad Triggers. Leitten struck out three, walked none and gave up one hit.

Joe Katin (2-2) was the games losing pitcher. He lasted just two-thirds of an inning, walked one, struck out none, and allowed three runs.
