The Galveston Sea Lions take out the Garden of Gears with help from johnson 3-2

The Galveston Sea Lions (6-3) beat the Garden of Gears (1-9) 3-2 in seven innings on Sunday at Christy Park behind charles johnson, who went 1-2. He singled in the third innings.

The Garden of Gears couldnt get anything going so long as brett draper was on the hill. Draper gave up just one hit, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out five during his four innings of work.

A bright spot for the Garden of Gears in the defeat was jeramiah steinert, who allowed only three runs while striking out seven.

adam barry got the win, running his season record to 3-0. He allowed one run over two innings. Barry struck out three, walked three and gave up one hit.

Steinert ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his second loss of the year.
