Fans were treated to a high-scoring affair Thursday as the Galveston Sea Lions (1-0) outscored the Garden of Gears (0-1) 10-8 in seven innings.

The teams totaled 16 hits in the game.

The Galveston Sea Lions got their bats going early, scoring seven runs in the first inning to pull ahead of the Garden of Gears.

joe hicks was hot from the plate for the Garden of Gears. Hicks went 2-2, drove in one and scored one run. He singled in the first and second innings.
